World Pizza by Cece Meng and Ellen Shi (Sterling Publishing)

Be careful what you wish for when you wish upon a star...but sometimes things have a habit of working out just fine in the end...
"World Pizza" is the sort of book we need in these troubled times. Not only does it celebrate our favourite food, it is a rather touching and inclusive whirlwind tour around the world that begins with a simple wish.

Mum and the family are atop their favourite hill indulging in a bit of stargazing when mum sees that most special thing, a special wishing star.

As she makes her wish, she sneezes! ACHOO! So instead of "World Peace" she ends up wishing for World Pizza!!

Of course, wishes can come true and sure enough the world is soon covered in pizzas of all shapes and sizes, every different flavour you can imagine.

Everyone loves pizza, and as they land, it brings the world together, uniting people as never before as they discover the fun and friendship of sharing.

This is such a brilliantly touching and original story, full of hope and love - as we said at the top of the review, just the sort of thing we need to read right now.

Charlotte's favourite pizza topping: Cheese and Tomato with black olives.

Daddy's favourite pizza topping: A veggie hawaiian (pineapple and quorn lardons) with tons of mozzarella.

"World Pizza" by Cece Meng and Ellen Shi is out now, published by Sterling (kindly supplied for review).
